Jo Hayden (Judy Garland) et Harry Palmer (M. Kelly) parlent ensemble, Jo est un peu esténuée par le pauvre Harry et ne veut pas l'avoir comme partenaire... Il décide de l'emmener dans un bar afin de parler autour d'un café, Harry révèle à Jo qu'il a écrit une chanson, il s'installe alors au piano et commence à chanter difficilement, il joue très mal du piano, ce qui a pour effet de faire rire Jo.
